DISCOVERING NEW ADVENTURES THROUGH
We are trying a few new things this week, the first of which is vocabulary. After hearing various critiques of the vocabulary, I have decided to try a personalized approach to vocabulary acquisition. Students were given the following form today and are required to find 10 words they do not know from readings, conversation, or other sources. Filling out the form will count as the weekly quiz and needs to be turned in by Friday. Next, each student was given all of their non-fiction article work today at the beginning of class. We are comparing 2 articles about and by Frederick Douglass. This packet cannot be posted online. I strongly recommend that each student file their packet in their student folder to keep it in class, but it may be taken home to complete if extra time is required.
Finally, we will try to finish the novel Ghost by Jason Reynolds this week. Students will begin working on the project introduced last week as soon as the novel is completed. Comments are closed.
